Research of Similar web found that by 2021, consumer adoption of DTC in the consumer electronics and home appliance category increased by 9.19%, compared to 2.14% for traditional retailers.

Similarweb also found that in the fashion and apparel industry, sportswear is becoming extremely popular. The athleisure category grew rapidly by 117% in the first Australian lockdowns and 18% in the second Australian lockdown, driven by people working from home and prioritizing comfort.

An increase in demand is great news for brands capable of delivering the right online shopping experience, but it also means that customers expect brands to be always available, on any platform. .
