Sarah Jessica Parker Closes SJP Flagship Store Due to Omicron Rise
Prevention is better than cure ! Tuesday, December 28, Sarah jessica parker and the entire staff of the SJP Collection store have announced the closure of the New York flagship as the Omicron variant continues to spread at a breakneck pace.
“Due to growing concerns about the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in New York City, our flagship store on 54th Street will be closed until further notice,” the company said in an Instagram post. âIt is our top priority to ensure the safety and health of our customers and staff. “
“Continue to follow us here for updates as we work towards a safe reopening,” the statement continued. “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and hope to see you soon.”
Parker and store employees encourage customers to check out the brand’s website to shop for the “latest collection and recently reduced sale styles.” To better assist you, the brand notes that “you can also call the store at 646-863-2133 during store hours to speak to a member of our staff who would be happy to help you remotely.”
This news comes just weeks after HBO’s release And just like that, the eagerly awaited Sex and the city spin off. And now that Parker’s fashion is on everyone’s mind again, it’s safe to say fans were probably hoping to find their way to the SJP store statistic.
Sad as the news is, Instagram users still praise the team’s decision to temporarily close the store. “Thank you for making a responsible decision in the interest of public health,” commented one person on the post. Another said, âRight thing to do,â adding a clapping emoji.
For the uninitiated, Parker launched the SJP collection seven years ago in 2014 with his late business partner, George Malkemus. The brand is appreciated for its luxurious shoes, fragrances and accessories.
âWe both agreed that our shoes should be handcrafted in Italy, which has a long tradition of being considered the home of the world’s best shoemakers,â the brand said on his website.
The SJP fashion boutique in New York City is among the Big Apple-based companies rethinking security procedures as the Omicron variant continues to spread. Apple closed all of its stores to foot traffic on Monday, meaning customer visits are limited to picking up online orders and making an appointment at the Genius Bar.
It remains to be seen which other New York-based retail stores will temporarily close to keep shoppers and employees safe – but Stylish feels many will take inspiration from Apple and SJP.
