Online watch retailer WatchPilot will open its first major store in Richmond

Online store for men’s and women’s watches WatchPilotwhat was founded in 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, is to open its first physical store at 6 George Street in Richmond, Surrey on November 3, 2022.

Offering a wide range of watches such as Versace, Ted Baker, Garmin, Tissot, G-Shock, Guess, U-Boat and Victorinox, as well as a selection of sunglasses from Ray-Ban, Oakley, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger and Versace, among others, the WatchPilot business was founded by co-directors Tim Harrison and Akbar Hussain after a chance encounter and their lifelong passion for watches. Each has a vast collection of its own.

The original plan was to open a physical store much sooner, but due to the pandemic plans were pushed back as they focused on building the website offering.

Tim Harrison said: “We will continue to develop our online presence, however, especially in the luxury sector of watch retail, there will always be a demand for a premium in-store experience. If our first store in Richmond proves successful, we are ready to replicate the concept in other similar locations.

“We will provide a premium shopping service delivered by a team of watch experts in a modern and relaxed retail environment.”

Akbar Hussain commented: “We are looking to offer a local retail alternative in the Richmond area which will offer big Swiss brands as well as fashion brands as well as smaller niche brands that don’t get the exposure they deserve at major national retailers.

WatchPilot worked with Redd Retail Group, an international design and presentation company specializing in the watch, jewelry and accessories categories, to help design and deliver the new store concept that will allow shoppers to easily navigate everything by offering comfortable consultation spaces where watching experts can give advice.

To complement the new store, the website has also been recently redesigned and upgraded to provide a “modern, world-class digital shopping experience”, including engaging video content. .
