JD Sports expands its new store in Cambridge’s The Grand Arcade

JD Sports has confirmed that it will increase its presence in Cambridge, moving its store from the Lion Yard shopping center to The Grand Arcade.

Open Saturday, October 22, the 13,902 square foot space will offer an enhanced product proposition to consumers and see a significant improvement in retail space, nearly doubling in size from the Lion Yard unit.

The new store will feature activewear brands including Nike, Adidas, The north face, Castore and New Balance. It will also feature even more fashion, footwear and accessories ranges, as well as new brands such as EA7, Under Armour, Lacoste and Fred Perry.

Moving from 2,333 square feet of retail space to 13,902 square feet of retail space will allow JD to better serve its customers. The Cambridge store is the 27th largest retail venue in the UK, and The Grand Arcade attracts 14.6 million visitors a year.

James Air, Group Acquisitions Manager, said: “We are committed to serving the communities that buy with us, while evolving with the needs around us. We are thrilled to take the next step in our journey, re-launching JD in Cambridge bigger and better than before, just in time for the Christmas period.”

JD is encouraging consumers to visit the new store on opening weekend to view the new space and have a chance to win prizes including JD Sports vouchers, movie vouchers, Crep Protect kits, Nando and a pair of trainers worth £100. .

Last month, JD Sports has become the first European partner to launch the Nike Connected Partnership program, giving customers priority access to select Nike member-exclusive products.
